The following new features are introduced with this release of the SOA Gateway:
New access method SELECT.
In contrast to the LIST method, which returns all data matching the specified key criteria at once, SELECT allows for conversational reading of "chunks" of data. Additionaly, SELECT provides greater flexibility in specifying key criteria.
Enhanced Discovery interface
Web services can be easily created from your business logic or database metadata with the new Discovery Wizard.
Just point the wizard at your business logic source code, or database table, and within 3 clicks you've create a Web Service that can be used from a wide range of Web 2.0 clients.
WebService Replication
Copy WebService defintions as well as data (e.g. from an Adabas file) from a source- to a target system, no matter if these reside on the same or a different server, independent of the source- and target-server architectures.
New CICS Driver
Enables your CICS business logic to be used as a WebService.
New DB2 and Oracle drivers
Now you can use the SOA Gateway to create web services from your DB2 and Oracle tables.
Stored Procedure Support
You can harness your existing business logic in stored procedures, and with the discovery wizard, enable these as web services in 3 clicks!
Business Data View
Create a compound ("business") view of your assets.
For example, "glue" together multiple Adabas files and handle rippled retrieval or updates with a single request.
SOA Gateway statistics
An initial implementation of a monitoring and statistics infrastructure allows for monitoring SOA Gateway activity with KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) presented on a "well known operation" level.
